Toni Collette (Muriel’s Wedding) and Pierce Brosnan (Mamma Mia!) lead an all-star cast in this adaptation of the best-selling novel by Nick Hornby (About a Boy). A Long Way Down is an uplifting ode to the outcast and an entertaining contemplation on what makes life worth living.
Martin Sharp (Brosnan) is a disgraced former television personality. Contemplating suicide, he finds himself on the roof of a London building on New Year’s Eve where he is interrupted by three strangers, Maureen (Collette), Jess (Imogen Poots, Filth) and J.J. (Aaron Paul, Breaking Bad), who each have the same fate in mind for themselves.
The four strangers form a pact, vowing to wait at least until Valentine’s Day. Little do they know how much can change in that time.
